Summary:

Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer, for a remote role in Augusta, GA and/or Sierra Vista, AZ.

The successful candidate should be able to:

Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements for complex systems related to information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, and risk management.
Develop plans and requirements for systems including software lifecycle management, software development methodologies, modeling, and simulation.
Perform functional allocation to identify tasks and their interrelationships.
Identify necessary resources for task completion.
Provide expert-level knowledge in the field of cloud engineering, qualifying as an expert for specific projects or task orders.
Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Needed skills:

Experience in IT with both modern and older technologies related to the required area of expertise.
Experience with Amazon AWS GovCloud and AWS services.
Hands-on experience with Lambda functions.
Expertise in configuring and patching RedHat and Windows OS components.
Proficiency in scripting with Python.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Certifications:

CompTIA Security+ certification, demonstrating commitment to security and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills include:

Experience in military service or working with government agencies in the DoD
Knowledge of log collection and aggregation tools
Possession of excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Possession of excellent communication and collaboration skills

Education/Experience includes:

4+ years of experience in system, network, and cloud engineering.

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
