Your missions

The Opportunity:

The Principal Architect, Applications Development – Commercial and pricing is the global senior functional commercial SME for the global Avantor Commercial (Sales, Pricing, Billing) application development and support team, with focus on pricing. In this role you will need to focus on the business process knowledge in the context of commercial business processes from quotes to orders to billing with a strong knowledge of pricing in an ECC and S4 environment. This requires gathering of business requirements and translating them into design of system components, implementing of standard functionalities, hands-on configuration. The commercial applications are currently based upon multiple SAP ECC, SAP C4C (Sales & Service Cloud) & ERP applications which but also include proprietary/custom applications outside SAP. SAP S4 will be the upcoming platfom.
In this position your will report to the Director Enterprise Solutions Commercial.

What we are looking for

  • Education: Requires 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.  Master's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: Significant experience in IT ERP application systems
  • Minimum of 5 life-cycle implementations of SAP, preferably in an international environment
  • SAP ECC6.0 (10+ years’ ) and S4/HANA experience (3-years’) is required within the commercial area (Sales & Distribution) with a pricing focus
  • Experience designing and implementing technology-enabled business solutions in client-facing roles.
  • Very good analytical skills, which gives the ability to design and build enhancements/fixes to complex problems/requirements
  • Language skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. Proficiency in another European language is highly desirable
  • IT skills: SAP Sales & Distribution and SAP S4. Pricefx knowledge highly desirable.
  • Experience in executing a SAP transformation program from ECC to S4
  • SAP Certifications and/or courses are a plus.
  • Experience in SOX Sarbanes Oxley is preferred
  • Knowledge of SD/MM modules in SAP ECC and S4 is a must. Knowledge of C4C is a plus

How you will Thrive and make an impact

  • Design and implement new global pricing processes on existing SAP, upcoming S4 and other 3rd party applications and custom software development
  • Provide IS advice to the business during reviews of business strategy – either at country, regional or global level.
  • Implement new systems or change existing systems to support the implementation of the pricing business strategy .  This includes making system configuration (customising) changes
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into a standard process design
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications that can be carried out by the offshore development team.
  • Drive Continuous improvement of existing pricing processes
  • Build and maintain relationships within the Enterprise Services department and the business stakeholders on a global level
  • Participate and lead (global/local ) projects
  • Help driving our company through the S4/HANA journey and execute our application service roadmap accordingly
