By becoming our North American expert on Valmet’s Machine Vision systems, you will enjoy a varied and challenging role including the following:

  • Responsible for implementation and front-line services for new system deliveries and upgrades
  • Assist the sales force when selling new systems or system upgrades
  • Be proactive in assisting Customers to troubleshoot and resolve system software and hardware field level issues through the use of remote connectivity and on-site inspections
  • Perform defect classification and interpretation of image data for our Customers
  • Participate in system engineering, installation, commissioning, and provide training for our Customers and employees
  • Audit existing system performance and usage
  • Be part of a global team that supports our Customers worldwide, exchanging experience, knowledge and supporting each other to succeed
  • Build relationships with our Customers and internal stakeholders in order to maintain a high standard of Customer Satisfaction
  • Provide feedback and input for continual improvement of our products and processes

To be an excellent match, you have previous experience in the Pulp and Paper industry specifically, ideally working with Valmet or Dr. Schenk industrial surface inspection equipment.  You have worked with Web Inspection and Web Break Monitoring Solutions to demonstrate process improvements utilizing fully automated camera-based surface inspection and web break monitoring solutions to perform root cause analyses and improve product quality benchmarks.  You are eager to apply your mechanical and/or electrical background to advance your learning. You have system software configuration skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and aid others when evaluating field hardware.  Generally, you can expect to self-manage your day-to-day schedule while adapting to the priorities originating from our Customers and Service Managers.

In this role, the following requirements are important for success:

  • Diploma or degree in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline combined with at least 5 years of industrial experience
  • Strong Customer orientation
  • Excellent oral and written, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong motivation to grow the Machine Vision business
  • Experience with Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Fluency in English is required, and fluency in French or Spanish will be considered a plus
  • The ability to travel up to 40% of the time within North America with the occasional trip overseas.
