Job Description

Job Summary (General Responsibilities):
As a Videographer at Belkin , you will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality video content that effectively communicates our brand’s message across various platforms. You will work closely with the Video Production Manager, Creative Directors, Marketing Managers, and cross-functional teams to produce videos for product launches, marketing campaigns, social media, internal communications, and more. Your role will have a touch point in most aspects of video production, including during conceptualization, pre-production, shooting, editing and post-production, ensuring consistency and alignment with the company's branding and messaging standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized media archive and continually updating your skills to stay at the forefront of video production technology and techniques.

Our work model offers some flexibility, allowing for occasional work-from-home days when shoots are not scheduled, or when planning and pre-production tasks can be done remotely. However, due to the high volume of shoots, this role will primarily require you to be on-site at our HQ in El Segundo, where you will have full access to our studio and equipment and collaborate closely with the team. Most workdays will involve being in the office to support production needs.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Video Production: Collaborate with the Video Production Manager and Creative Directors to plan, shoot, and edit video content for product launches, marketing campaigns, social media, advertising, training, and internal communications. Ensure all video content meets the company’s branding standards and quality expectations.

  • Technical Expertise: Operate and maintain a variety of camera formats, including DSLR, mirrorless, cinema cameras, and professional video cameras such as ARRI, RED, Canon C-series, Sony FS-series, and Blackmagic. Ensure proper lighting, sound, and camera settings are used to achieve the best possible video quality.

  • Editing and Post-Production: Use industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and other relevant tools to edit footage, color grade, add special effects, and ensure final videos are polished and professional.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing Managers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide creative input, and ensure video content aligns with the company’s strategic goals. Communicate effectively across departments to facilitate smooth project execution.

  • Creative Development: Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative video concepts and storyboards that align with the brand’s vision. Stay updated on current video trends and incorporate them into your work to keep our content fresh and engaging.

  • Asset Management: Implement and maintain an organized media and asset management system for efficient storage, retrieval, and archiving of video files and related assets. Ensure all files are properly backed up and cataloged.

  • Quality Control: Ensure that all video content is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and alignment with brand standards before final delivery. Maintain a high standard of excellence, aiming for a “9 out of 10” quality benchmark for all projects.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain video equipment, lighting, and other production tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Stay informed about the latest advancements in video production technology and recommend new equipment purchases as needed.

  • Training and Development: Pursue ongoing training in video production techniques, software, and equipment to stay current with industry trends. Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned, including supporting the broader Creative Services team with various projects and initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity: Support the company’s Affirmative Action initiatives by providing equal opportunities to all employees and candidates. Contribute to achieving affirmative action goals and timetables.

  • ISO Compliance: Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001 and 14001, understanding and fully supporting the ISO system.

  • Company Policies: Understand and adhere to company rules, regulations, and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or corporate video production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in video shooting, editing, and post-production.

  • Technical Skills: Expertise with various camera formats, including DSLR, mirrorless, and professional cinema cameras (e.g., ARRI, RED, Canon, Sony, Blackmagic). Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and other relevant video editing software. Familiarity with motion graphics, color grading, and sound design is highly desirable.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas and collaborate effectively with team members across all levels of the organization.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work are essential.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with external vendors and clients.

  • Equipment and Software Proficiency: Experience with both Mac and PC platforms, and familiarity with related equipment such as lighting rigs, microphones, gimbals, drones, and stabilizers. Knowledge of 3D animation and VR/AR content creation is a plus.
