SUMMARY: 

The Senior UX Strategist is a trusted partner advocating for UX practices internally, with external partners, and stakeholders. They drive strategic research and solutions coordinating to present key findings and actionable next steps in support of Bright MLS’s strategic initiatives. Senior UX Practitioners can demonstrate experience related to psychology, content strategy, user research (qualitative or quantitative), information architecture, user experience, interaction design, or visual design. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

You will lead strategic initiatives through initial discovery and ideation, working closely with the Director of UX Research and Design, leadership, product managers, and partners who are passionate about creating exceptional experiences. Your actions and deliverables will include: 
 

• Facilitate strategic research and deliver actionable insights.
• Explore and deliver designs and design related solutions including journey maps, personas, workflows, wireframes, and comps.
• Organize workshops and collaborative sessions to generate ideas and concepts.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure alignment between their expectations, the product design, and the user experience.
• Report to leadership on UX outcomes and initiatives, taking executive priorities and needs into consideration.

Key Objectives  

Strategic Leader 

The Senior UX Strategist leads discovery and design for early-stage, conceptual efforts in support of Bright MLS’s strategic initiatives.  

• Craft and formalize project plans and timelines for early-stage discovery including research, concept generation, and validation. 
• Work in an agile environment seeking progress and ideation over perfection. 
• Ideate and present based on research and data, not emotions or preference, 

• Communicates through storytelling, written and verbal channels the pros and cons of options backed by research, best practices, and input provided across the project team. Fluent in necessary tools such as Word, Powerpoint, Figma. 

UX Culture & Process 

The Senior UX Strategist advocates for UX practices within the organization 

• Actively shares knowledge within the UX team and across the broader organization 
• Identifies opportunities to codify and standardize practices for the UX team 
• Acts as a thought leader and partner on iterative UX 
• Mentors team members and contributes to the HCD and UX delivery playbook including templates, operating procedures, and approach

Business Development  

The Senior UX Strategist supports joint ventures and new product offerings 

• Supports new product and feature ideation and exploration 
• Aligns with stakeholders and partners on business opportunities 
• Collaborates with Marketing and Customer Advocacy on business needs 

REQUIRED JOB FUCTIONS: 

• A Bachelor's degree in UX design, Psychology, HCI, or related field or demonstrable experience
• At least 5-7 years of experience in a UX Strategy role, with consulting experience
• Proven experience in guiding and leading strategic UX initiatives
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in UX tools and methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

• A Master’s degree in UX design, Psychology, HCI, or related field or demonstrable experience
• Experience working in a global technology company
• Demonstrated product roadmap, 0-1, ideation skills
• Mentoring and coaching experience 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment
