Your missions

Under the general supervision of the Director of Grants and Community Engagement, the Workforce Development Specialist will serve as the first line of support for users of the Detroit Wayne Connect online training interface.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to requests related to the online training system, live events, trainings and conferences. 
  • Assists with testing website features, graphic design for the website, and approving requests for community calendar submissions. 
  • Assists with the preparation, staffing and evaluation reporting requirements of events. 
  • Works directly with and cultivates relationships with Community Mental Health (CMH) organizations and stakeholders throughout Wayne County.
  • Assists with the execution of events for various teams/initiatives.
  • Reviews advertising requests and forms for printed materials.
  • Proofreads documents to ensure accuracy. 
  • Serves as a liaison between departments and outside vendors for DWIHN events. 
  • Executes event themes as directed.
  • Co-facilitates production meetings for DWIHN events.
  • Assists the Director with the preparation and review of all planned events.
  • Ensures each event follows strict checklists and procedure protocols to ensure successful execution.
  • Communicates with and assists other DWIHN departments.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Bachelor’s Degree

OR

An Associates Degree or the equivalent sixty (60) Credit Hours in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Work, Public Relations, Computer Technology, Graphic Design or a related field.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of training or event coordination experience.

NOTE:   Experience and Education may be substituted on a year for year basis.

 

REQUIRED LICENSE(S).

A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan.  This position can work remotely with supervisory approval.
