Job Role overview:

At GBH, the DevOps Engineer (Junior) will work closely with teams to transform the way they work, leveraging Agile, DevOps, and Cloud principles and practices across the SDLC and our business processes. The ideal candidate for this position is willing to work as a 1 year full time contractor. 

  • This role will be providing support for driving and accelerating the way teams deploy and release across multiple projects, while also supporting the provisioning and maintenance of the underlying infrastructure for both our internal and our customers’ operations.
  • Play the role of a DevOps Engineer to implement or optimize processes focused on automation and continuous communication, while also supporting the tooling experience in terms of continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring, in the whole software development life cycle within our organization and our clients.
  • Supporting the different processes of the Information Technology division in terms of professional services, system operations, site reliability and security.
You´ll be responsible for:
  • Manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines implementations in multiple projects.
  • Improve our cloud infrastructure management processes.
  • Provide troubleshooting capabilities to incidents and technical issues.
  • Proactive monitoring, alerting, and analysis of hosted infrastructure and applications.
  • Continuously improve the organization’s capabilities to identify and resolve incidents proactively and opportunely.
  • Documentation of policies, procedures, and guides, based on existing and future implementations.
  • Collaborating closely with our Service Delivery and IT teams to ensure our value-delivery workflow is optimal while communicating risks and improvement opportunities on time.


Requirements

Requirements

  • Software or Networking Technologist, or anything like an associate degree in Information Technology.
  • Term student or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems or anything similar.
  • Advanced or Upper Intermediate English level 
  • 1+ years of experience at a similar position (System Administrator, Cloud Engineer, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of operating systems and networking (TCP/IP).
  • Experience on UNIX-like systems administration.
  • Understanding of the SDLC and proven participation at any of its stages.
  • Experience in application’s containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Strong understanding on configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Proven experience with any CI/CD Tooling (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or anything similar).
  • Experience with any major Cloud Service Provider (AWS or Azure, GCP is a plus).
  • Effective communication and emotional intelligence
  • Conflict management abilities.
  • Ability to work well on a team-based work environment.

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in virtualization technologies at production-level environments (VMware EXSi, HyperV). 
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Administration. 
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code methodology (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). 
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (Swarm, Kubernetes).
