Your Responsibilities as Software Engineer:

As a Software Engineer at Eoliann, you will be a vital member of our dynamic team committed to creating a data-driven, resilient future. Your role will revolve around developing and optimizing software solutions that drive our climate risk assessment platform. If you are passionate about climate change, advanced technology, and are ready to make a significant impact, this position is an excellent fit for you.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to design, develop, and maintain software applications that support our climate risk assessment platform. This includes creating robust and scalable code that integrates with our proprietary machine learning models.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design of our climate risk assessment platform.
  • Integrate and optimize data processing pipelines for satellite EO data and historical climate data into our API, ensuring financial institutions can quantify their portfolios' exposure to climate physical risk accurately.
  • Implement and maintain machine learning models to forecast climate-related risks.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of our software applications. Implement best practices for quality assurance and code review processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in climate technology and contribute to innovation within the company.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices, allowing frequent merging, rapid software production, and automated deployment of our ML models.
  • Utilize containerization technologies, particularly Docker, to deploy containerized applications, enabling seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and tool interoperability for our forecasting models.

Must have:

  • Enlisted or able to enlist to "Liste del Collocamento Mirato - Articolo 1 Legge 68/1999"
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Proficiency in other languages (JavaScript, C++, Rust, …).
  • Experience with Big Data processing concepts and tools (Apache Spark, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and hands-on experience in implementing security measures.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and practical experience in network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and passion for Extreme Programming principles.
