Quansight has its roots in the Python data science community. Our founders have had significant involvement in creating and maintaining NumPy, SciPy, Jupyter, Spyder, Dask, Conda, Numba, and other projects, as well as PyData NumFOCUS, and Anaconda. Quansight is looking to find a full-time remote CPython core developer to join our team of data science and engineering professionals and open source maintainers and experts. We are also open to a part-time or contracting role.
What you’ll do
A core part of this position will involve contributing to CPython and helping improve and maintain CPython itself and other key open source projects in the Python ecosystem, with an initial focus on improving free-threading in CPython.

For this role, you must already be part of the CPython core development team and have in-depth knowledge of CPython internals and usage of the CPython C API. We also highly value good communication skills. Knowledge of numerical computing and deep learning is beneficial but not required.
