Cloud Platform Engineer

The mission for the Cloud Platform team is to help product and platform teams deploy and run their software securely and efficiently. This supports our product teams in delivering value to customers and enhances developer satisfaction. We focus on providing blueprints, frameworks, and advocacy for seamless delivery on Google Cloud.   

We are looking for a passionate Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Team. In this role, together with the team, you will drive, lead and execute our cloud infrastructure initiatives. We love to see our product teams responsible end-to-end for their products when it comes to stability, performance security and cost control. The cloud platform team is committed to enabling this through infrastructure-as-code, providing frameworks and guidance towards the product teams. You will work closely with these cross-functional product teams to deliver value while aligning with our strategic goals and ensuring developer satisfaction.

Who are you? 

What will help you be successful in this role? 

  • 2+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Cloud Engineer. 

  • 2+ years of expertise managing cloud infrastructure and security (with GCP). 

  • 1+ years working with Terraform. 

  • Strong mindset to automate processes and develop solutions to streamline repetitive workflows. 

  • Background in software development (GO/Python/Java/Bash) to thoroughly grasp engineering challenges. 

  • Proficiency in setting up CI/CD. 

  • Experience working with git.

  • SRE Strategy: Together with the team strengthen the company's foundation and direction in SRE strategy, utilizing various GCP products and innovative practices. 

  • Cloud Management: Ensure effective and secure use of the cloud, automating infrastructure needs, testing, and failover solutions. 

  • Technical Collaboration: Evolve the platform's technical foundation by mentoring product teams in DevOps practices and improving CI/CD processes. 

  • Service Reliability: Enhance the reliability, resilience, and incident response of services, working closely with internal partners. 

  • Problem Solving: Debug complex problems across the stack and provide solid solutions to improve infrastructure skills and performance.
