We are seeking for a Senior Accountant to deliver top-tier outsourced accounting services to growing businesses. You will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Controller, or CFO, you will coordinate with the internal accounting team and work with the bookkeepers to ensure that information is communicated in an effective and timely manner.
In addition, the Senior Accountant will be expected to review and manage various tasks performed by the bookkeeping team. Those duties will require you to gain a strong understanding of the transaction flow with the client as well as developing and maintaining proper procedures to ensure accurate accounting. Your role will require an in-depth understanding of the detailed transaction flow as it relates to the overall financial statement results to achieve accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
● Supervise and review the work of the bookkeeping team, ensuring accurate transaction flow and adherence to procedures, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
● Ensure that client deliverables and timelines are met by managing support staff and identifying challenges/risks to meeting deadlines.
● Conduct and review reconciliations for bank accounts, sub-ledgers, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and notes payable.
● Prepare and analyze financial statements for Accounting Manager review, summarizing account information and trends for clients.
● Ensure compliance with document retention policies and accurate documentation of transactions.
● Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, troubleshooting issues and ensuring data integrity.
● Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
● Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
● Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA/CA candidate is a plus.
● 3+ years of recent accounting experience with strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
● Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
● Organizational skills with strong ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.
● Proficiency in Excel and Quickbooks and familiarity with various tech platforms such as Gusto and Bill.com.
