Note:   This Senior Actuarial Analyst position is well-suited for individuals with actuarial experience, SOA exam credentials (required), and who are working toward their ASA designation.  Need to meet the Rule of 5 (e.g., 2 years exp, 3 passed exams).   If you're already an ASA or FSA, please see our Associate or Actuary postings.

Position Purpose: 

  • This position will be provide cross-market cross-functional actuarial support for all Centene Medicaid markets. Extract, transform analyze, aggregate, review, interpret data to support development of Medicaid health insurance models. The position requires applying technical skills to complex analyses, strong interest in Medicaid market dynamics, good communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. Excel skills and familiarity to SQL or other programming languages. Experience with health care claims and pharmacy claims (i.e. understanding of costs, diagnosis/procedure codes, pharmacy terminology, etc.). Readiness to work on ad-hoc, time sensitive projects to respond to Medicaid business needs across 31 states.

In this Senior Actuarial Analyst role, you will:

  • Understand different Medicaid markets and how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
  • Analyze different data sources to determine value and make recommendations
  •  Incorporate core data management competencies including Data Governance, Data Security and Data Quality
  •  Perform assessments on data assets
  • Prepare information for actuarial and non-actuarial audiences through building reports and delivering summary of results
  • Serve as a resource to others
  • Maintain high quality documentation of data definitions, transformations, and processes to ensure data governance and security
  • Active pursuit of actuarial designation(ASA /FSA)

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. Combination of years of experience and number of actuarial exams passed equals or exceeds 5 (Rule of 5). For example, 2 years of actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams.

License/Certification: Combination of years of experience and number of actuarial exams passed equals or exceeds 5 (Rule of 5). For example, 2 years of actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams.

Highly preferred skills: Experience with writing SQL programming to pull health care claims, revenue, and cost categories.

*Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. To accommodate the business's requirements, the ideal work schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Pacific Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time, Central Standard Time, or Eastern Standard Time.*

Note:  This Senior Actuarial Analyst position necessitates a minimum of actuarial experience, SOA exams, and a Bachelor's degree. Need to meet the Rule of 5 (e.g., 2 years exp, 3 passed exams).

Pay Range: $67,400.00 - $121,300.00 per year
