Your missions

      

The Sr. Talent Development Specialist will lead the development and growth of our Financial Advisors. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and sustaining development programs and initiatives that drive the success and professional development of our financial advisors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the financial services industry with a proven track record in developing high-impact training and development programs for financial professionals.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to program design, vendor selection as applicable, content creation, communications planning, logistic management (in partnership with our coordinators), evaluation and analytics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in learning & development and organizational development. This role requires someone who can engage with senior leadership, collaborate across departments, and drive initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

This can be a remote position within the US.

         

          

Role Responsibilities:

Program Design and Implementation:

  • Lead the design and execution of comprehensive development programs tailored specifically for Financial Advisors, focusing on areas such as financial planning & advice, client relationship management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including sales and compliance teams, to identify learning needs and develop targeted programs to enhance Financial Advisor performance.

Financial Advisor Development:

  • Develop and deliver specialized training programs that address the unique needs of Financial Advisors, including product knowledge, sales techniques, and client engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure leadership development initiatives are integrated with overall talent management strategies.

Organizational Development:

  • Partner with our business execution team and business leaders to drive organizational change initiatives, including culture transformation, team building, and change management.
  • Assess organizational needs and develop strategies to improve advisor engagement, retention, and productivity.

Learning & Development:

  • Oversee the development and delivery of training programs, including e-learning, workshops, and seminars.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through metrics and feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.

Talent Management:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement talent management strategies, including succession planning, talent reviews, and high-potential development.
  • Identify and nurture key talent within the organization, ensuring a strong pipeline for future leadership roles.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership and department heads to ensure alignment of talent development initiatives with business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on talent development strategies and initiatives.

 Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, organizational development, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development, financial services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering financial advisor development programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and influence senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and report on the effectiveness of development programs.
  • Licensing: FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 120 days

Preferred: 

  • Experience in launch and onboarding in the financial services industry or for sales positions
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques and resources for onboarding sales candidates preferred
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or other relevant certifications are a plus.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $81,887.00 - $110,789.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
