Job description

What we are looking for:

Tripoint Solutions is seeking an IT Security Specialist to join our team.

 

The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for protecting information systems and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data. You will work closely with other IT professionals to design and implement security measures, monitor network activity, and respond to security incidents.

 

Location: Remote work.  The selected candidate must be currently located in, or willing to relocate to, a state supported by Tripoint Solutions corporate offices: AL, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, NC, NJ, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA.

 

The successful candidate will be accountable to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze security systems and network traffic to detect potential threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses.
  • Respond to and manage security incidents and breaches, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to secure systems and applications through configuration management and patching.
  • Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees.
  • Document and report on security incidents, breaches, and compliance metrics. 

 

What you bring:

Experience, Education & Training: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have one of the following certifications CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.
  • Proven experience as an IT Security Specialist or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53 Release 5, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Experience with security tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM).
  • Proficiency in network protocols, operating systems, and network security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud security and multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Knowledge and Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 365 and Power Platform (preferred).
