- Salary range is $73,000 - $110,000 per year.
Position Summary
The Applications QA Engineer II will ensure quality software delivery for internal and customer-facing applications. This position would require the employee to document and perform validation and regression testing for all software developed by Transcat’s internal applications development teams, including but not limited to calibration, receiving, ERP, eCommerce, and Salesforce feature implementations. This position will also require the employee to be in constant contact with the development teams, participating in reviews with the developers, and assisting in deployments with Transcat’s infrastructure team. This role will involve manual testing, as well as development and execution of automated testing.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with internal development teams to document and design testing procedures
- Develop and execute automated testing procedures
- Author detailed reports containing analysis from test executions
- Design and execute manual testing procedures
- Present reports to developers on project standups
- Run and maintain annual regression test plan
- Smoke test and provide quality signoffs for software deployments
- Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Prior software development or automated QA experience
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as Selenium or Cypress
- Experience with development languages used for automated testing, such as Javascript, Java, Python, etc
- Experience with test case management software, such as TestRail
- Experience with manual testing procedures
- Some understanding of development languages and tools such as PHP, .NET, and AWS Lambda
- Basic understanding of SQL
- Experience with application ALMs, such as Jira
- Experience with testing REST API-based architecture and tools to perform tests such as Postman
- Experience working and communicating with development teams
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
Education and Experience
- 3 years related experience developing automated testing
- College degree in Computer Science or similar field preferred
