A day in the life of a Full stack Java DevOps Engineer

Delivering innovative, reliable and high quality features across the different business lines
Streamlining our development process all the way from Junit, code check-ins, peer code reviews, static code analysis, to running automated tests
Improving our continuous integration, increasing our automated test coverage and helping us get to the next level of maturity with respect to Continuous Delivery
Maintaining the asset by proactively identifying bottlenecks, reproducing bugs in minute
Embracing continuous changes by learning and adopting new tools or standards

Be proficient in Java (+5 years), with a good knowledge of its ecosystems. The Billing backend is a combination of Java 17 components running on Linux, Spring, JPA, Drools, Web Services, MQ, Oracle. On the frontend side, we are migrating to the Ing-Web framework which is a mix of standard technologies such as HTTP, REST API’s, Javascript, Lit-HTML and node.js
Have a knack for writing clean, readable and unit tested Java code
Be familiar with common dev tools such as Eclipse, Git, Maven, Npm, Ansible, Azure DevOps
Be pro-active, assertive and a good communicator in English
Coaching or Lead development experience is a huge plus !

The team

As an IT Engineer for the Daily Banking Tribe, you will be part of the S.TAR Billing BE Squad responsible for the TAR Billing engine used in Belgium. With the help of the Agile methodologies, you will support ING in delivering quality products to our customers. You will be working with other engineers, developers and business stakeholders. The team seek an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for IT that will bring all pieces together and create an impact in all upcoming deliveries.
