As the Director of Operations you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of Energy5. Your primary focus will be to provide strategic leadership, streamline processes, and foster a culture of operational excellence. By working closely with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders, you will be instrumental in driving the company's mission to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Oversee and streamline daily operations across all departments to enhance efficiency and resolve issues.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities, build key relationships, and develop strategic proposals to drive growth.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goalsand objectives.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set long-term goals and KPIs for the operationsdepartment.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing operations team, providing coaching, mentorship,and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency andeffectiveness.
  • Streamline workflows and procedures to maximize productivity and reduce operationalcosts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, contractors, and partners toensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and products.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and service level agreements withvendors.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet operational goals and objectives while maintainingfiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing appropriate control measures.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance) to align operationalactivities with overall business strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends,and customer needs in the energy efficiency and sustainability sector.
  • Analyze competitor activities and industry developments to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenuegrowth and market expansion.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients toensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify target markets, segments, and customer profiles for Energy5's services andproducts.
  • Lead efforts to acquire new clients, including residential, commercial, and industrialcustomers, through effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Generate regular reports and updates for the executive team on business developmentand operational activities and outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will bring relevant sector experience, a solid set of core skills, and an eagerness to learn.

5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing operations, preferably in the energy industry.

Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mindset.

Experience working on energy policy, legislation and/or regulation at the state and regional levels.

Prior experience leading a growing team.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful operational strategies.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance teams.

Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
