Our growing Imunify Security Team is looking for a Malware Analyst. In this role, you will analyze various types of malware targeting web hosting servers and implement enhancements to our products that will help prevent future infections for our clients. The position is fully remote with flexible hours, allowing you to plan your day and work from anywhere in the world. Join us and take your career to the next level!

What You Will Do:

• Analyze diverse types of web malware affecting hosting servers globally
• Develop and refine methods for detecting and analyzing malicious files
• Conduct and publish research on current security threats

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should have:

• A good understanding of web server software and hosting systems architectures (Linux/UNIX-based)
• A solid understanding of PHP language, with proven experience in code analysis and scripting
• Basic knowledge of regular expressions (PCRE). We expect you to know the difference between \A and ^, why you need to use modifiers (?: ...), and why you should not start a regex with \w to find a fragment in a file, etc.
• Strong analytical skills
• English proficiency of at least Intermediate level
• Experience in developing security tools, automation, and frameworks
• Experience cleaning up websites from malware
• Web-based malware reverse engineering skills (JS deobfuscation, PHP deobfuscation)
