Eras Senior Network is seeking an experienced and dynamic Volunteer Director to lead our team in building an exceptional volunteer program for our community of caring individuals. As the Volunteer Director, you will ensure that all volunteers have a meaningful and engaged experience with the programs of Eras Senior Network. In this role, you will serve as Director of Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, establish goals for volunteer recruitment and retention, develop effective outcome measurement tools, and meet all grant requirements for output measurement, partnership development, and program management.

Responsibilities and Core Functions:

Volunteer Management Operations:
  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) of Milwaukee County and Waukesha County, including planning, coordinating & responding to volunteer inquires, volunteer applications, volunteer orientation and training sessions, volunteer satisfaction activities & overseeing placements in RSVP stations.
  • Provide leadership and support for the development of RSVP Coordinators, Volunteer Coordinators, and the volunteer management team.
  • Oversee processing of volunteer applications within determined timeline. Oversee onboarding of RSVP volunteers, including interviewing, training, scheduling & supervising volunteer assignments. Conduct new volunteer orientations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records for all service activities. Ensure that information is available for the completion of all funding reports.

Outcomes and Performance:
  • Comply with all regulations for the Corporation for National and Community Service relevant to RSVP. 45 CFR 2553.
  • Leadership of RSVP volunteer recruitment for Milwaukee County and Waukesha County to achieve goals in alignment with agency strategic plan and as articulated in grant requests, in partnership with Development and Outreach team.
  • Oversee accurate and timely entry of all program information in NewOrg database. Maintain volunteer database & required documentation. Produce monthly & quarterly reports and required funder reports.

Outreach and Support:
 
  • Present to funders and actively participate in the Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinators Association (WVCA).
  • Oversee volunteer outreach throughout the service area to ensure satisfaction with RSVP.
  • Plan & execute volunteer recognition opportunities within program budget.
  • Oversee recruitment, engagement & coordination of RSVP Community Advisory Groups.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human services or related field and/or 2-3 years’ experience with volunteer management (AmeriCorps Seniors/AmeriCorps program experience preferred).
  • Demonstrates high level of initiative, works in a primarily self-directed way to achieve goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple shifting projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative approach to problem solving, with a passion to exceed volunteer, client, team, and organization expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience successfully maintaining relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, database management, and federal grant reporting systems.
  • Proven success in developing and managing budgets of $250k+.
