The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that project requirements are accurately documented and communicated. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to support the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) in achieving its strategic objectives.

The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop documentation, and facilitate project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Ensure that requirements are clearly defined, documented, and communicated to the project team.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze current business processes to identify areas for improvement. Develop and recommend solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and the project team. Facilitate communication and ensure that stakeholder expectations are managed.
  • Project Planning: Assist in the development of project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensure that project activities are aligned with the DTMO's strategic goals.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and coordinate testing activities to ensure that project deliverables meet business requirements. Validate that solutions are functioning as intended.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems. Develop user training materials and conduct training sessions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in business processes and project management practices. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

 

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis, project documentation, and stakeholder coordination. Experience with government contracting and defense projects is highly desirable.

Skills:

    • Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., MS Office, Visio)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
    • Ability to create detailed documentation and reports
    • Knowledge of requirements gathering and validation techniques
    • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
