BizFirst is assisting our client with the hiring of a highly skilled Audit Management Consultant to partner with Government Agencies and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) in enhancing audit processes through a business process improvement (BPI) approach. This role is instrumental in improving the financial oversight of government contracts by providing consulting expertise to help streamline audit procedures, optimize efficiencies, and enhance the overall value provided to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal entities.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

What will you do

The ideal candidate will have significant experience (10-12 years) in audit management, with a strong background in performance auditing, and government agencies. The candidate should demonstrate a consultative approach and possess exceptional client relationship skills.

  • Facilitate feedback sessions with stakeholders to gather insights and continuously refine audit processes.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports and analysis on audit performance, process improvements, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, offering consultative services to address challenges in audit processes and financial oversight.

Requirements:
  • US Citizen with Public Trust or Higher Clearance.
  • Experience: 10-12 years of experience in audit management, with a focus on government agencies, defense contracts, and performance auditing. Experience in a large audit firm is strongly preferred.
  • Audit Support: Proven experience in leading and supporting government audits, with a focus on process improvement and financial oversight.
  • Client Skills: Strong consultative and client relationship skills, capable of managing key stakeholder relationships and ensuring alignment on audit processes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage relationships at senior levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in process optimization.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with DCAA regulations and audits is preferred, but not required.
  • Certifications: DCAA-related certifications (e.g., DCAA Auditor Certification, CPA) are preferred but not required.
  • Background in Defense or Federal Contracting.
  • Experience with Business Process Reengineering (BPR) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD financial oversight and contract administration.
