Director, Software Engineering at Funnel Leasing

Funnel Leasing Inc., is hiring for a Director, Software Engineering that can 'work from home' in the U.S. As a Director, Software Engineering, you will be responsible for managing multiple product development teams, ensuring functionality is built with high quality on a predictable schedule. Your role will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in a dynamic agile environment - aligning on priorities and executing on critical initiatives. As an engineering leader you will collaborate with other engineering leaders in the department to identify, plan, and execute on strategic initiatives. This role report to our Senior VP of Engineering.

The Director, Software Engineering essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work closely with product owners, designers, and engineers in a dynamic, agile environment innovating on new products and features.
• Implement best in class software engineering practices.
• Drive developer productivity and solve issues standing in their way.
• Establish scope, priority, and schedule of product deliverables with the rest of the leadership team.
• Work closely with the SVP of Engineering to set technical direction.
• Regularly evaluate and provide feedback and mentorship to engineers and engineering leaders.
• Expand our engineering team leading technical recruitment efforts and hiring processes.
• Ability to be hands-on with technical details and their implementation.
• Maintain and oversee on call processes
• Create a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Foster collaboration within the team and across the company.
• Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
• Travel up to 5% of the time.

Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, and Certifications

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related experience.
• 5+ years of full-time experience managing Software Engineers
• Experience leading Software Engineering Managers
• Experience leading specialized roles within Software Engineering, such as Quality, DevOps, etc.
• Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and contributing to productive engineering teams
• Experience hiring, growing, and retaining high performing software engineers
• Analytical and process-oriented mindset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
