What’s the role?

We are looking for a seasoned product manager to support buyers in evaluating and committing to items across Etsy’s unique inventory. 

As a Senior Product Manager on the Buyer Experience team, you will be responsible for developing a strategy and roadmap to hit ambitious goals that will make it easier than ever for buyers to shop on Etsy. As the product lead for your squad, you’ll be partnered with a designer, engineering manager, analyst, and researcher to dive deep into customer problems and build creative, data-driven solutions that set Etsy apart.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Group Product Manager.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office in an in-person or flex capacity. Candidates living within commutable distance of Mexico City, may be the first to be considered.

The Buyer Experience team helps nearly 89 million customers find relevant items and evaluate Etsy's vast inventory, make confident purchase decisions, and return to Etsy more often. With billions of items offered by 7.5 million sellers, we bring value to buyers, sellers, and Etsy by balancing data, qualitative research, and experimentation with e-commerce best practices to tackle the exciting challenges posed by operating at scale.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Craft a vision, define a roadmap, and prioritize consumer facing product features via opportunity sizing, experimentation, and continuous iteration

  • Partner closely with outstanding designers, engineers, user researchers, and data scientists to identify customer problems, explore potential solutions, and test hypotheses to ultimately build products that help Etsy shoppers find just what they’re looking for

  • Define OKRs and track progress against them, communicate plans and updates to cross-functional partners and leadership, and drive the execution of your roadmap to hit your team’s goals

  • Own your team’s success metrics, including impact to our business and customers

  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • You have experience defining consumer product strategies and roadmaps from inception to launch.

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team.

  • You love harnessing quantitative and qualitative data to solve challenging customer problems and have experience running consumer facing A/B tests.

  • You’re a great communicator, both in writing and orally. You’re also a great listener.

  • You’re skilled at establishing relationships with design, engineering and other team members by developing empathy and trust and influencing without authority.

  • You’re proficient in SQL/BigQuery. (preferred)
