About the Role

We are seeking a Data Protection Manager to join our Risk and Compliance team to support in the building of our data protection framework and ongoing compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Head of Risk, Data Protection, and ISMS, you will assist in maintaining data protection policies and procedures.


Your Role: 

  • Assist in developing and implementing a data protection strategy and framework that aligns with our business objectives and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of our data protection policies, procedures, and systems, identifying and mitigating any risks or gaps.
  • Manage the data protection impact assessments, data breach investigations, and data subject access requests, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Offer expert advice and guidance on data protection issues and best practices to internal and external data protection queries, fostering a culture of data protection awareness and accountability.
  • Generate internal management reports on data protection related activities and develop data governance documentation.
  • Develop and maintain data processing agreements with third-party vendors and partners to ensure compliance with legal requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Manage and maintain our data protection records, documentation, and reporting, ensuring we meet our obligations under relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work with internal stakeholders such as legal, IT security, HR, and marketing to integrate data protection considerations into business processes and projects from the outset.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in data protection and privacy, updating our data protection strategy and framework accordingly.


What We're Looking For: 

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in data protection preferably in the technology and/or financial services industry working with GDPR and UK Data Protection Regulations as a minimum.
  • Detail oriented with excellent reporting skills
  • Solid understanding of data protection and privacy laws and regulations in the regions where we operate and their implications for our business.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality, capable of handling sensitive and confidential data and information.
  • Confident with relationship building at all levels of an organisation
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluent in English.

We're hybrid-remote so you should be comfortable picking up new software tools for document drafting, collaboration and communication. Most of your colleagues will not share an office with you on a day-to-day basis.
