Description

This opportunity offers the chance to join a leading staffing agency and collaborate in a remote/hybrid capacity as a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in substation design. Residing in the Syracuse, NY work area is required to take part in this dynamic work environment. You will be part of a team engaged in meaningful work that aims to build lasting relationships and create a positive impact in the world of substations.

As part of the Power Delivery Substation Department, you will have the opportunity to develop rewarding projects and initiatives, reinforcing a company philosophy of doing good, having fun, and building success.

Responsibilities

Develop substation layout drawings, including plans and elevations, yard layouts, grounding, raceway details, control building layouts, and material lists for new and existing substations.
Create one-line, three-line diagrams, Auxiliary AC Power Systems, DC Power Systems, and other essential schematics and layouts.
Perform engineering calculations and prepare detailed reports.
Prepare specifications for substation equipment and components.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in design and engineering for power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
Managerial and leadership experience is a plus.
Professional Engineering license (PE) is preferred, or the ability to sit for the exam within 6 months.
Experience with renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, Energy Storage) is an asset.
Strong command of the English language for effective communication.
Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Skills

Hands-on experience with AUTOCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
Strong understanding of IEEE/ANSI standards for substation design.
Commitment to driving strong business performance and continuous improvement.
