Responsibilities

Core Duties:

• Oversee all IT networks to ensure seamless internal and external communication.
• Design and upgrade network architecture to improve performance and resilience.
• Maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, hardware, and related systems.
• Facilitate remote user access and ensure timely delivery of critical data.
• Install new systems and maintain existing networks to enhance communication infrastructure.
  
  

Key Areas Of Focus

• Network Engineering Support (60%): Design and support network infrastructure, including dynamic routing, resiliency, and various network technologies. Assist with projects, outages, and remote user access. Troubleshoot network issues using tools like Wireshark and review trouble tickets.
• Remote Access VPN Systems (10%): Manage VPN systems, including patching, upgrades, and architecture changes. Provide support for user issues and enhance features based on requests and security needs.
• VOIP Telecommunications Systems (10%): Support VOIP systems by testing call quality, configuring quality of service, and troubleshooting communication issues.
• Technology Evaluation (15%): Conduct proof of concept testing for new technologies and make recommendations on dynamic routing protocols, software upgrades, and data movement techniques. Collaborate with team members on new designs.
• Documentation (5%): Update and maintain network diagrams, procedures, spreadsheets, databases, and FAQs.
  
  

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field such as programming, computer science, or engineering. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience in network engineering or administration.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• 5-10 years of experience in a Network Engineer or related IT support role.
• Familiarity with wireless standards, protocols, and technologies.
• Experience with routing/switching technologies, VoIP, VPN, SNMP, and data mirroring.
• Preferred experience with BGP routing protocol and Palo Alto Global Protect VPNs.
• Knowledge of Linux scripting, IT automation tools, and DNS/DHCP management is a plus.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and multitasking skills.
  
  

Certificates And Licenses

• CCNP or equivalent knowledge required; current CCNA certification is a must.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• General office setting with occasional lifting of IT equipment (up to 20 lbs).
