Description

Are you passionate about harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to drive impactful solutions? We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist who is eager to make a difference by applying their technical expertise and industry experience in a collaborative environment. This role involves guiding the application, scalability, and effectiveness of AI/ML technologies, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership, and ensuring our data and analytics tools align with our strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and define large-scale AI/ML use cases with business leaders and strategic partners.
  • Lead the development of scalable and high-performance AI/ML solutions.
  • Apply modeling techniques to support emerging business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT architects to design, implement, and scale cutting-edge AI/ML solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and methodologies in AI/ML solutions.
  • Design complex information assets for applied analytics and maintain well-governed datasets.
  • Simplify and standardize model development processes and provide expert advice on vendor acquisitions.
  • Contribute to talent development initiatives and participate in technical interview panels.
  • Translate complex analytical and technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of a robust library of reusable algorithms and supporting code.
  • Develop relationships with academic and industry experts and represent the organization at key conferences.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, or statistics.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in predictive analytics or data analysis, including 6 years in training and validating advanced analytics models.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in dynamic scripted languages (e.g., Python, R) and expertise in supervised and unsupervised modeling techniques.
  • Hands-on Experience: Proven experience building, deploying, and managing advanced analytics solutions.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Experience in guiding and mentoring junior technical staff.
  • AI Strategy: Experience in developing and executing AI strategies, including creating multi-year roadmaps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military Experience: Experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant regulations.
  • AI Literacy: Experience enhancing overall AI literacy within an organization.

  • Compensation: Competitive salary range of \(182,680 - \)349,150, based on experience and market data.

  • Work Environment: Flexible work options with the requirement to be in the office 4 days per week, with opportunities for remote work within the continental U.S. and occasional travel.
