Your missions

Overview

You will lead and oversee the accounting functions for operations in the United States, focusing on financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, general ledger maintenance, year-end audits, and support for budgeting and forecasting activities. You will collaborate closely with senior management and various department heads, requiring strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain and maintain a deep understanding of financial reporting and general ledger details to ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records.
  • Manage accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Oversee daily banking activities, including monitoring transactions, processing accounts payable, and managing receivable collections.
  • Provide timely input for budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with finance team members to enhance department procedures and resource use, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Advise and train staff on handling complex transactions, manage performance issues, and support professional development.
  • Prepare accounts for year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors for a seamless process.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Supervisory Duties

You will manage a team of 2 senior accountants and 2 clerical staff members (including one remote employee), ensuring effective task allocation and timely completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA certification are a plus.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, with public accounting experience being beneficial.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the team.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Sage X3 or SAP is advantageous.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, adept at handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods, if necessary.

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular talking and hearing. Frequent standing, walking, handling objects, and reaching with hands and arms are integral to the job.

Work Environment

You will primarily work in a professional office environment, with occasional visits to manufacturing and warehouse settings, utilizing standard office equipment.

Travel

Moderate travel to multiple U.S. locations will be required, including visits to a secondary site, with travel expenses covered by the employer.
