Your missions

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead and oversee daily accounting functions within our team. In this role, you will ensure that month-end close deadlines are met and actively participate in the preparation of financial reports following STAT and GAAP standards. You will be responsible for analyzing accounts and financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of 2-4 accountants, providing guidance, support, and conducting performance reviews. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diversity and teamwork.
  • Review & Oversight: Review journal entries and understand the underlying processes to ensure timely and accurate entries in the General Ledger. Oversee account reconciliations and perform account analyses.
  • Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with STAT and GAAP standards. Assist in preparing and reviewing financial and compliance reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Process Management: Monitor the close calendar, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Regularly update documentation of processes and procedures, and recommend improvements for efficiency and control.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as a liaison with external auditors, providing necessary documents and support. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Problem Solving & Support: Assist with research, problem-solving, and administrative duties. Investigate and resolve issues or escalate to management as needed.
  • Project Involvement: Support the department with various projects and emerging accounting issues as assigned.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with STAT and/or GAAP accounting is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting research, Excel, Word, Outlook, and computerized General Ledger or other financial systems.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and solid understanding of accounting and financial policies.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred, But Not Required: Experience with Oracle Financials. A Master’s degree or CPA certification.

Work Environment

  • Remote: This is a fully remote position open to candidates located in the United States. A quiet, private workspace is essential.
  • Work Hours: Schedules are set to meet the position’s demands and the organization's needs, with potential adjustments as necessary.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings at off-site locations.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range is \(80,000 - \)120,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
