We are a private, non-profit organization that partners with the State of California to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Serving the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974, we provide services to people of all ages—from infants and toddlers to adults and seniors.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will oversee a talented team of accounting and revenue staff, manage audits, ensure accurate financial reporting, and handle key accounting functions such as vendor audits, bank deposits, reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of audit and revenue staff.
  • Conduct and oversee vendor audits, develop audit plans, and assess results.
  • Review and approve disbursement requests from trust accounts, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop monthly expenditure forecasts, prepare annual reports, and complete other required financial reports.
  • Participate in strategic discussions, offering insights into department needs, and lead special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and policy guidelines, especially related to state and federal programs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of third-party representative payee responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal staff.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressive accounting experience.
  • A minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • Auditing experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing practices, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse team.

Licenses & Certifications

  • A valid driver's license may be required based on the duties assigned.
