Overview

Are you a passionate finance professional with a keen eye for detail and a love for storytelling? We are seeking a hands-on Finance and Accounting Leader to oversee the financial operations of a dynamic and growing content creation studio dedicated to producing impactful and motivational content that resonates with audiences worldwide. If you possess a strategic mindset, a hands-on approach, and expertise in QuickBooks Online, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger transactions, receivables, payables, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Take ownership of P&Ls, providing valuable insights and data-driven recommendations to drive growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on daily activities to support business expansion and financial success.
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools and capabilities to support effective business management and performance tracking.
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and work with department heads to adjust forecasts and budgets as needed.
  • Execute month-end accounting close, including updating financial models, investigating budget variances, and creating journal entries.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, manage vendor setups and invoice payments, and ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Monitor payroll records, identify inconsistencies, and provide guidance for corrections.
  • Implement and maintain cost control systems, audit vendor invoices, monitor company spending, and review expense reports for policy compliance.
  • Prepare sales and tax returns for various jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A.
  • 3+ years of experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; CPA is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the media industry and familiarity with cable, production, OTT revenue, and ad models is a plus.
  • Experience working in a startup environment is required.
  • Proficiency in managing large data sets and various reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the President/COO

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounting Associate and Finance Project Manager
