Your missions

Description

As an HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to campus leadership and managers in your assigned areas. This highly visible role requires developing effective working relationships between Human Resources and leadership, managing all HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, and training.

You will operate as a business partner, change agent, and management advocate while providing guidance and solutions that align with university strategy and objectives. You will also support your HRBP counterparts as needed, ensuring a cohesive HR strategy across the campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with campus leadership to understand workforce needs and provide aligned HR solutions.
  • Develop workforce plans, identify skill gaps, and implement strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
  • Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, and legal compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee issues with empathy and fairness.
  • Collaborate on compensation, benefits, training, and legal compliance initiatives.
  • Plan and implement HR business plans aligned with university strategy.
  • Lead HR strategic planning and goal-setting sessions with leaders.
  • Develop HR strategies to meet academic and business needs through organizational redesign.
  • Assess training needs and develop relevant programs.
  • Oversee onboarding of new employees and senior leaders.
  • Coordinate and represent HR at various committee meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
  • Demonstrated progressive HR experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Experience in higher education or a unionized environment.
