Agile Project Manager for Veterans Affairs

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead our team in delivering exemplary services to our Department of Veterans Affairs Corporate Portfolio clients across the U.S. This position includes reporting to the Program Manager and utilizing your expertise in Agile methodologies to manage multiple project teams effectively. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in guiding complex projects using Agile frameworks and will be proficient in tools like Jira for project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, to plan, execute, and complete projects on schedule and within scope.
• Promote Agile principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within project teams.
• Lead and manage multiple project teams, offering support and coaching to ensure cohesive progress towards project goals.
• Create a collaborative and transparent work environment by encouraging open communication and shared understanding of project objectives.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, timelines, resources, and milestones.
• Work closely with various teams to align project deliverables with business objectives.
• Identify and address potential risks and dependencies, implementing strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Utilize Jira for project tracking, issue management, and team collaboration, customizing workflows to fit Agile practices.
• Train and support team members in using Jira effectively for task management, sprint planning, and reporting.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and changes.
• Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to gather and prioritize project requirements.
• Ensure all contract-related commitments and milestones are met, partnering with legal and procurement teams.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, gathering feedback and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet the highest standards.
• Conduct regular reviews and retrospectives to identify opportunities for improvement.

Education, Experience, And Clearance

• Bachelor's degree with six (6) years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI).
