Job description

Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations.

Why do we love building Make (and why you might, too)?

We are developers and we take it for granted that we can solve pretty much anything by writing software. But what if someone is not a developer or doesn't have access to one? Chances are that they will end up doing the same boring tasks over and over, copy-pasting data from one place to another, wasting time on low-value work instead of doing something way more impactful.

With Make, we give anyone the opportunity to build powerful automations in a way that almost feels like a game. We give anyone a chance to experience the joy of building something that just works. We turn regular people into makers.

What you’ll do

As a Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer, you'll be a key player in a cross-functional product team, contributing to the ongoing development of our public-facing web apps and helping shape the future of our platform. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create user-friendly and performant features.
  • Build new product features from the ground up and maintain and enhance existing ones.
  • Write code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Ensure pixel-perfect implementation of web designs and responsive user experiences.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and issues across our stack.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and resilience.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to the technical evolution of our stack.
  • If you like, you can improve engineering best practices and collaborate on initiatives that improve how we work.
  • Deploy your code to production frequently and participate in our continuous delivery process.
  • Have fun, learn, and grow in a team that values collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Our Tech stack

  • ⚙️Back-end: Node.js, JS/TS, PostgreSQL
  • 🖥Front-end: React (Next.js), TypeScript, JavaScript, GraphQL, Web Components, Cypress, Jest
  • ☁️Infra: Amazon AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
  • 🚚CI/CD: GitHub, CircleCI, Argo CD
  • 🔎Monitoring: DataDog, TrackJS

What we expect from you

We’re looking for someone who has a solid foundation in full stack development and is ready to take the next step in their career. While you won’t need senior-level expertise, you should be comfortable with our technologies and eager to grow alongside a supportive team. In particular, we’d like you to have the following:

  • Front-end skills: Proven experience with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. You can build clean, responsive UIs and deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Back-end skills: Experience with Node.js and at least one framework (Nest, Express, or Fastify). You’ve built or contributed to APIs and understand the full web development lifecycle.
  • Database knowledge: Hands-on experience with DBs - SQL
  • Attention to detail: You have a keen eye for design details and care about creating a visually appealing, consistent user experience.
  • Communication: Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to discuss technical topics effectively with teammates, including designers, product managers, and developers.
  • Code quality: You write clean, well-structured, and well-tested code, and are familiar with best practices like unit and integration testing
  • Strong command of English – verbal & written (we’re an international team)
  • Growth mindset - you are willing to admit when you don't know something and are open to hearing and learning from new opinions
  • Nice-to-haves: Familiarity with web experimentation (A/B testing), AWS, or Docker/Kubernetes is a plus but not required
