Location/Division Specific Information

This role as Sales Developer will be responsible for building and contributing towards the growth of the pipeline within the life sciences Electron Microscopy division. You will help to increase our market across EMEA by engaging with researchers in existing and new market segments, building relationships and communicating the latest technology, applications and workflows in life sciences electron microscopy.

In this role you will have an opportunity to work with researchers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, learn more about their research needs and help them to discover how electron microscopy can drive their research forward.

A day in the Life:

  • Drive sales development activities for Electron Microscopy products to EMEA sites in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, volume EM and cell biology research communities, including presenting latest applications and products at events, customer meetings, and online (including webinars) and running workshops.
  • Nurture relationships with (potential) new customers as well as research leaders, creating and driving campaigns to inspire a broad range of researchers to adopt electron microscopy technology
  • Use research and data to uncover new opportunities for future business

  • Engaging, clear and credible communication
  • Life sciences electron microscopy experience
  • Ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally (up to 50%)

Education

  • Master's degree in life sciences required / PhD preferred.

Experience

  • Highly developed listening and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to tune messaging depending on the audience and progression of the conversation, develop deep customer relationships and communicate credibility to gain insight into customers’ requirements.
  • Hands on experience in life science electron microscopy applications, volume electron microscopy or structural biology, with the ability to quickly learn as new technologies and workflows come online.
  • Creative approaches to solving problems, and an ability to drive projects and campaigns from inception to results and reporting.

  • Ability to deploy your technical knowledge in a pre-sales and sales environment
  • Confidence dealing with data and data analysis
  • Creativite and innovative self starter

  • Additional languages, especially French are an added bonus

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role is based remotely, with travel both domestically as well as internationally (up to 50%) to customer sites, events and Thermo Fisher sites.
