Your missions

Description

As a Biostatistician II, you will play a key role in supporting our research initiatives by assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of various information systems activities. Working closely with a dynamic team, you will contribute your expertise to ensure our research is data-driven and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Applications

  • Design and maintain databases for efficient storage and retrieval of research data.
  • Develop computer programs to integrate data from multiple sources for comprehensive analysis.
  • Implement and evaluate both quantitative and qualitative research designs following standard APA format.
  • Collaborate with team members on the biostatistical aspects of research protocols, including defining objectives, designing sampling methods, randomization, and data collection procedures.
  • Support the development of SAS/SPSS applications to enhance research projects.

Data Collection

  • Create detailed project statements and participate in designing questionnaires and interview forms.
  • Analyze data in collaboration with senior statisticians, performing univariate and multivariate analyses such as logistic regression and factor analysis.
  • Oversee the analysis and presentation of project data, ensuring consistency and quality from collection through final reporting.

Communications

  • Prepare tabular and written summaries of analyses suitable for project deliverables and presentations at meetings.
  • Work with faculty members, epidemiologists, and project team members to interpret and present study results.
  • Draft correspondence and meeting minutes for public distribution.

Studies

  • Assist in interpreting and presenting study results in collaboration with team members.
  • Contribute content expertise and write selected sections of final project reports; participate in editing and ensure deliverables are presentation-ready.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • 0-1 year of experience in health-related research, ideally in biostatistics or epidemiology, including scientific research data analysis and database management.
  • Proficiency in PC database construction, particularly MS Access.
  • Working knowledge of SAS and SPSS statistical packages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and study participants.

Preferred

  • Experience with survey sampling statistics and methodology.
  • Proven experience in statistical analysis of survey data.
  • Familiarity with programming survey software systems, including data entry, computer-assisted telephone interviewing, and web surveys.
  • Experience in manipulating and cleaning datasets.
