Description

HFA is seeking a Scan Field Technician to travel and document existing building conditions. This is a entry level key role in our Scanning Team that involves capturing data that sets the basis for design. Experience in this area is a plus but is not required. The ideal candidate has proven experience of being trustworthy, reliable, and savvy with technical equipment.

You will learn the latest digital technology and be a part of a growing team within HFA, which means numerous possibilities, depending on where you see your career going. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.

Lots of travel in this role, approximately 70 percent of the time. Individuals would travel to many parts of the continental US. Therefore, we seek to hire an individual from the Greater Boston area to utilize Logan Int'l Ariport as a hub for travel. You'll get to keep the airline, car rental & hotel points for your personal use.

Full-time role: $18.00-$28.00 per hour, dependent upon experience.

Please note that HFA has traveling policies in place to ensure proper accommodation and reimbursements are available to you.

Individuals must me capable of walking long distances in extreme temperatures at times. The position requires the ability to access ladders and climb on roofs.

Ideal candidates should be positionally aware of their surrounding and able to troubleshoot technical problems in the field and have some software and technology experience needed to complete day to day tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize specialized equipment and software to scan, measure, and document As-Built conditions for existing buildings and job sites.
  • Responsible for the transfer of data, manipulation of captured data for processing in software
  • Develop analytical thinking with photography composition skills, mechanical mindfulness, and software adaptability.
  • Maintain proper care of the company equipment and ensure security and safety for yourself, all equipment, and accessories.


Job Duties

  • Ability to work without direct day-to-day supervision and make technical decisions
  • Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills, the ability to produce work independently, and effectively coordinate with team members
  • Proactive and organized, the candidate effectively manages multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Extensive national travel to perform on-site property surveys
  • Physically demanding walking, lifting, and climbing on consistent basis
