Your missions

In this role, you will assist the Business Continuity Manager to coordinate and support the continuous development, embedding and management of Business Continuity standards within EUI.

You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including target business areas to understand and analyse Business Continuity needs across EUI.

The role will always require a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and embedding Business Continuity Management comprising of documentation and associated activities, by ensuring alignment to the Admiral Group Business Continuity Policy and supporting BCM standards, controls, and guidelines.
  • Be proactive in ensuring the documentation for all areas of BCM is regularly checked and up to standard.
  • Execute annual reviews of BCM plans with plan owners to ensure plans are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain appropriate business continuity documentation for all staff and locations across EUI to ensure they remain current and relevant to business needs.
  • Participate in business continuity exercises and tests in order to identify potential gaps in business continuity and service continuity plans.
  • Assess business continuity risks as defined in the risk management process, and track risks with the support of the EUI Risk Team.
  • Work with a wide range of multi-functional teams to conduct business impact assessments, identify critical processes, define recovery objectives, and map critical dependencies.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering business continuity status reporting as required.
  • Responsible for checking third party BCP’s to ensure their BCM standards match Admirals.

In addition to the above core responsibilities, you will be expected to assist the team in delivering against our wider objectives including management support, as necessary.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of governance frameworks, risk, and compliance.
  • Practical experience of resilience methodologies – business continuity / disaster recovery / business impact analysis / operational resilience.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses, key support functions, and decision makers across the business.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and effectively influence, advise, and support people throughout the organisation.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and to prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent multitasking and organisation skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to produce MI and reports, and report and present findings.
  • Excellent communication skills to create and deliver clear and concise written or verbal reports.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy when producing work.
  • Self-assured – be able to confidently request, challenge and amend information as necessary.
  • The ability to work as a team member as well as being able to work under own initiative.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge or experience in business continuity or operational resilience processes and standards (ISO22301) preferable
  • Experience working with a BCM tool, Fusion in particular, preferable.
  • Experience working in a large insurance / financial organisation preferable.
  • Good awareness of the financial services regulatory environment and regulations impacting GI preferable.
