This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trustee to make a huge impact by supporting a small and newly established charity to get off to the best possible start.

A Trustee plays a vital role in a charity, particularly one like us in our infancy. To help form its identity, principles and practices that will make an impact for years to come. You will be part of building the legacy of Beyond the Margin and be helping to positively impact the lives of many vulnerable young people and adults in West Yorkshire. The Chair will serve as a member of Beyond the Margin's board of trustees, providing strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure the charity achieves its mission and vision. You will support the founder and CEO helping this small organisation to enhance its reach and impact. Your commitment, expertise, and dedication will be essential for ensuring that the organisation effectively fulfils its mission and continues to make a positive difference in the lives of many vulnerable young people and adults across West Yorkshire.

We are looking for someone with the qualities, skills and expertise to take this small charity to new heights Passionate A deep commitment to our cause and a genuine desire to make a difference. Along with a willingness to commit time and energy to fulfil board responsibilities. Strategic Leadership A proven track record of leadership and board-level experience. Provide visionary leadership, contributing to the development and execution of the charity's strategic plan. Governance Knowledge of charity governance and compliance. Actively participate in board meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes, ensuring that the charity operates ethically and in accordance with its mission and values. Advocacy and Outreach Represent the charity to external stakeholders, donors, partners, and the broader community, advocating for its mission and raising its profile. Resource Development Support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant applications, and events, to secure resources for the organisation's programs and initiatives. Collaboration Collaborate with fellow board members, staff, and volunteers to harness collective expertise and resources for the benefit of the organisation. Risk Management Identify and mitigate potential risks to the organisation's reputation, operations, and financial stability. Succession Planning Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new board members to ensure a diverse and skilled leadership team.

What will you be doing?

Beyond the Margin is a newly established CIO dedicated to supporting disadvantaged and marginalised people in West Yorkshire by delivering community and school based interventions that empower, enhance skills, improve wellbeing and raise aspirations. We are committed to making a positive impact in our community by delivering community based projects that use the arts, culture, sports, creative education, youth work and arts based therapies such as drama therapy to engage vulnerable young people and adults. As we embark on our journey to create a better world, we are seeking a dedicated Chair to join our team to support our founder and current trustees. As our Chair of Trustees, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our new organisation into a period of growth and development. This is a volunteer position, and the time commitment is estimated at 4 hours per month. Meetings may be held in-person or virtually, depending on the organisation's needs and the board of trustees location and availability
