Your missions

Frontend or full stack engineer needed to help with the design and maintenance of a resource databse the will allow visitors to view organisations that provide events and services to families who have members who are living with autism.

Our charity undertook a survey on provision of services and events for people living with autism in the Selby and District area. Feedback suggested that that there was little for people to do and extermely limited access to support services. We have set up an unmrella group of interested parties in North Yorkshire who are keen to promote neurodoversity provision in the district. A database can have the following benefits Allows organisations that provide events to advertie where and when these take place. Service organisaitons can advertise what services they can provide to help people access benefits, grants etc. that may help families. It may encourage organisaiton who may be local an opportunity to advertise their offeirngs on the database.

What are we looking for?

As a frontend volunteer you will be responsible for focusing on the customer journey, thinking critically about a11y features, and ensuring the site is responsive on a number of device form factors. The areas of immediate improvement are developing a calendar view of data, developing a set of configurable colorschemes, and ensuring the application is usable with screen readers.Ideally you will be familiar with bootstrap, vanilla JS, jQuery, semantic html, and contemporary accessibility technologies.

What will you be doing?

The application is a Python/Django project and as such the frontend will be pure css/js, with Django templates serving the html aspects.
