Project description

The Ministry of Health Cooperative Agreement (MOH CoAg) in Eswatini has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Health Systems Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. The MOH CoAg has defined project objectives and activities for the period 2020-2025 and needs to define an M&E framework to monitor the project progress. The current project indicators are either not measurable or not clearly defined because the project focuses on health systems strengthening, which is difficult compared to clinical performance indicators.

The PCRV will review the CoAg EPMP Development of a framework for Monitoring and Evaluation and support the development of the M&E System including tools and dashboards for monitoring performance. The PCRV will also train the CoAg Senior Management Team in using the M&E System.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Eswatini together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field
  • Minimum five years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation of health systems, with at least three years’ experience in international or resource-challenged settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the technical content of health systems strengthening for global health.
  • Understanding of the special challenges of monitoring and evaluation of health systems strengthening interventions.
