Job description

We are currently collaborating with a prominent organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to expand their team with highly skilled individuals.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to oversee the management of our Microsoft SQL Server environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases within our Microsoft stack. You will work closely with IT staff to develop architectural strategies at the database level and implement end-to-end solutions for data storage and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company databases.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize database systems for performance efficiency, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine database maintenance and troubleshooting activities to resolve issues promptly.
  • Strategic Planning: Design and manage database strategies, including system monitoring, improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement and oversee database policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with data management laws and regulations.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure data completeness, security, and confidentiality.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to other technical staff regarding database best practices.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Extensive experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server environments.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in SQL Server administration, including configuration, performance tuning, and security management.
  • Strong knowledge of database architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with backup and recovery scenarios, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning.

Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
