Memorial Blood Centers (MBC.ORG), a division of Innovative Blood Resources (www.innovativebloodresources.org), has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948. We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood—from our community, for our community. 

Responsibilities:

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and data-driven Marketing Manager to join our team at New York Blood Center Enterprises / Memorial Blood Centers. In this role, you will partner with colleagues across the Enterprise to implement national campaigns at a local level. You will also plan and execute local campaigns, promotions, and events for blood and platelet donors, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience that drives donor retention and satisfaction.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Implementation: Collaborate with colleagues across Donor Engagement and the organization to lead and/or localize and implement national marketing campaigns. Tailor strategies to meet the unique needs of the local community while aligning with the Enterprise goals.
  • Event Planning: Organize and manage events for blood and platelet donors, including appreciation events and special initiatives. Ensure these events are well-executed and contribute to donor retention, collection, and recruitment goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze daily blood and platelet collection numbers to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Use data to drive marketing strategies that enhance donor engagement and collection success.
  • Local Partnerships: Seek out and cultivate local partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to support the collection goals and donor retention efforts.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with local and regional media outlets. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, comfortable speaking to the media and representing the organization in interviews, press conferences, and other public forums.
  • Collaboration with Donor Teams: Work closely with Donor Recruitment and Collections teams to ensure donor centers and blood drives are successful. Align marketing strategies with operational needs to maximize impact.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on campaign performance, event outcomes, media engagement, and partnership success. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the overall success of Donor Engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

 

Experience:

5-7 years of experience in marketing, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or blood services.

 

Other:

Knowledge of traditional and new marketing strategies and trends.

Familiarity with the local service areas (Metro Twin Cities and Duluth area).

Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, project management system).
