Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sportsbook to lead sports betting operations across the African market. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of sports betting tools, features, and products. They should also have a proven track record of effectively utilizing third-party providers such as Genius Sports, Sportradar and Sporting Solutions to enhance offerings and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership: The Head of Sportsbook will develop and execute a comprehensive sportsbook strategy tailored to the African market, driving revenue growth and market expansion.

2. Product Management: They will oversee the development and enhancement of sports betting products and features, ensuring they meet the needs and preferences of African customers.

3. Operational Excellence: The successful candidate will implement best practices for sportsbook operations, including risk management, trading, and pricing strategies to optimize performance and profitability.

4. Vendor Management: They will collaborate with third-party providers to leverage their tools and services effectively, maximizing the quality and competitiveness of the sportsbook offering.

5. Team Management: The Head of Sportsbook will lead and mentor a team of sportsbook professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

6. Regulatory Compliance: They will ensure compliance with relevant gaming regulations and standards across all African markets, staying abreast of changes and proactively addressing any compliance challenges.

7. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis and competitor research to  identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats in the African sports betting landscape.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior sportsbook management role within the iGaming industry. Experience with a focus on the African market will be considered an advantage.

3. In-depth knowledge of sports betting tools, features, and products, with hands-on experience in their implementation and optimization.

4. Proven track record of successful vendor management.

5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving strategic objectives.

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.

8. A passion for sports and a deep understanding of the African sports betting landscape.
