Senior Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator
*Location: Suwanee, GA*

** Please Note:  While this role is remote, we are only considering candidates who have a reasonable commute to the Atlanta market available for periodic in office meetings.

 
**Position Overview:** 
The Senior Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator will oversee the customs clearance process for chemical products through Western U.S. ports, particularly focusing on ocean cargo. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between freight forwarders, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of shipments. This role also involves managing shipping documents and collaborating closely with the commercial department to meet critical contract deadlines.

**Key Responsibilities:** 
  • Coordinate the routing and customs clearance of import shipments with freight forwarders. 
  • Ensure that all shipping instructions are strictly followed and that deliveries are on schedule. 
  • Prepare and process all necessary documentation for international shipments, including import paperwork. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for both internal and external customers regarding shipment statuses, regulations, required documentation, invoices, quotes, and related logistics inquiries. 
  • Monitor and manage large volumes of containers, break bulk, and rail shipments across the U.S.

**Qualifications:** 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics/operations. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of import logistics experience, with a strong focus on inbound ocean cargo. 
  • Familiarity with rail transportation and the importation of regulated cargo is preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
