Your missions

Latitude is looking for top-tier employment law attorneys to offer ad-hoc employment advice to a number of corporate clients in California. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience advising employers on a comprehensive range of federal, state, and local employment laws and litigation, with a focus on California labor and employment issues. Work may include:

  • Providing guidance to clients on a wide variety of employment law matters, including but not limited to advising on employment laws, performance management, reductions-in-force, separation agreements, employee claims, independent contractors, and policies and practices.
  • Assisting on pre-litigation employment disputes, respond to EEOC and other agency charges, manage outside litigation counsel, and negotiate separation and settlement agreements.
  • Drafting and updating templates used by the HR team, including waivers, offer letters and contracts, severance agreements, and guidelines on best practices.

Basic Requirements for California Licensed Labor and Employment Attorney (Remote)

  • Juris Doctorate and strong academic credentials from a top accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in California.
  • At minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience as an attorney in a law firm or in-house environment with at least four (4) years’ experience advising clients on employment law matters.
  • Law firm and/or in-house experience communicating complex legal concepts to corporate clients, other attorneys, and management.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding professional references

Position Details of California Licensed Labor and Employment Attorney (Remote)

Type of role: Engagement

Schedule: Flexible

Location: Remote (California Bar License)

Compensation:

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $160,000 to $225,000+ or more when calculated on a full-time basis.

Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
