Job Description

We are looking for a Sr Oracle + SQL DBA to support multiple databases ensuring data integrity, security, and stability. This position will be a full-time and remote.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor DB performance, identify issues, and tune the DB for optimal performance.
  • Ensure that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies.
  • Load, or assist in loading of, database software, upgrade and patching.
  • Provide operational support for the database, ensuring data integrity, database availability, and performance.
  • Provide support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Develop and advise on standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment.
  • Design and implement logical and physical databases of a moderately to large complex nature.
  • Determine aggregation, partitioning and indexing strategies for physical data.
  • Monitor and tune database performance, including SQL scripts, hints, execution plans, and materialized views.
  • Administer end-user access, review user roles and permissions to protect data from unauthorized access.
  • Provide DBA expertise to ongoing development activities.
  • Ensure that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies.

Required

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years strong experience working with Oracle and SQL in a Windows environment
  • Good observational and analytical skills to help identify and resolve issues
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and performance tuning
  • Experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Active Data Guard
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Golden Gate replication
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Citrix, App-V and Terminal Services
  • Self-starter, have excellent communication skills and work seamlessly in a team environment as well as independently
  • Experience administering multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle and SQL databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Administrator
  • Experience with data modeling and database design
  • Ability to manage database security, users, groups, roles, and permissions
  • Extensive knowledge in software and utilities related to supported DBMS such as Reorg, Backup, Recovery, Load and Unload
  • Extensive knowledge of relational database and data warehouse design techniques and dimensional modeling processes
  • Extensive knowledge of capacity planning and disaster recovery
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a major in computer sciences or management information systems or equivalent work exp.
  • Teamwork is a key element of the position. Ability to collaborate with the DBA team and developers and system owners
  • Ability to manage multiple support and project priorities
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
