Your missions

Description

This position plays a crucial role in supporting the legacy FuelTaCS application and rewriting it in C#. You will be providing software support to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement Section (NCSHP MCES) and the DMV License and Theft Bureau, enhancing tools vital for compliance and safety on North Carolina’s roads.

The Fuel Tax Compliance System (FuelTaCS) allows officers to issue citations to commercial trucks violating NC General Statutes, offering real-time access to critical information. Additionally, the License and Theft Bureau Motor Vehicle Inspection Law Enforcement System (MILES) ensures that vehicle inspections are adequately tracked and conducted in compliance with state laws.

Responsibilities

  • Support the legacy FuelTaCS application.
  • Rewrite the legacy FuelTaCS application in C#.
  • Assist with additional DMV applications such as LECMS, the Scrap Yard System, Trip Permits, CVIEW, and Notice Storage & Theft.
  • Provide software support and assistance to relevant enforcement sections.

Requirements

  • 25+ years of work/manager experience in the IT field.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of software development principles, including analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation.
  • Experience with the following:
    • .Net Development Frameworks (.Net Framework, Windows Forms)
    • Programming Languages (C#, C++)
    • Databases and Version Control
    • XML and Object-Oriented Analysis
    • Joint Application Development (JAD)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects effectively.
  • Proven capability to support production applications.
Additional Information

  • W-2 rate up to $55/hour with a one-year contract. Corp to corp is accepted.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card required.
  • This is a remote position, but candidates will need to pick up and drop off equipment at their own expense.
