Your missions

Description

You will oversee multi-state operations of affordable multifamily housing, ensuring staff achieve financial goals, comply with practices, and support on-site teams. Your leadership will guide the hiring, training, mentoring, and development of your team to maximize performance while fostering strong relationships with agencies, investors, and ownership groups.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations to ensure financial goals are met and compliance practices are adhered to.
  • Hire, train, mentor, coach, and develop teams for optimal performance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with agencies, investors, and ownership groups; lead calls and report updates.
  • Ensure clear regional communications so teams are informed of updates.
  • Conduct regular property visits, focusing on compliance matters.
  • Coach direct reports on budgeting, expense management, capital improvements, and maintenance expectations.
  • Ensure all property management staff understand the rent-up schedule, tax credit delivery timeline, and break-even plan for new properties.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the Regional Manager for properties in active rent-up.
  • Keep Development and Senior Management informed of progress.
  • Travel to properties in the assigned portfolio for corporate meetings, conferences, and training as required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of successful management experience in multi-state affordable housing property operations, including knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, and S8 compliance.
  • Current working knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and local City and State programs.
  • Preferred industry certifications: CPO, CPM, SHCM, TCM.
  • Experienced in finance, budgeting, capital expenses, and operations.
  • Persuasive leadership style with excellent communication skills, capable of developing long-term relationships with investors, ownership, and regulators.
  • Proficient in MS 365 and Property Management software.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40%.

Location

Based in Houston, TX

Compensation

\(150,000 - \)180,000+ negotiable, commensurate with experience, plus bonus; comprehensive benefits package includes healthcare.
