OVERVIEW:
Antelope is on the hunt for an ambitious and dynamic Sales Director to join our rapidly expanding team! This role is crucial to driving explosive growth in both the F/D/M (Food, Drug, Mass) and Farm Channels. With a two-brand go-to-market strategy, one brand serves the Pet Specialty, Indie Pet, Natural, and Farm Channels, while the second focuses on F/D/M channels. Since launching our first F/D/M brand in 2021, we've secured placement in over 5,000 grocery and Grocery, Drug and mass retail stores across the U.S. and Canada, and our goal is to exceed 10,000 stores by the end of 2026.
Our Pet/Natural/Farm Channel brand has been a trusted leader in the pet treat and dental space for over 20 years. In Q1 2024, we introduced a new line of limited-ingredient, natural pet treats in the F/D/M space, creating a powerful opportunity for explosive growth. We have plans to acquire 5 to 15 new brands over the next 2-3 years to make us a leader in the Pet space.
We are looking for a driven, "hunter"-style sales professional with a proven track record in CPG, ideally within the Pet category. As the F/D/M Sales Director, you will take ownership of identifying opportunities and managing the entire sales process, from delivering impactful sales presentations with customers directly and through our broker partners where we utilize their strengths. You'll oversee promotion planning, execution, and ROI analysis, along with sales forecasting and conducting customer business reviews. This role reports directly to the Chief Sales Officer and will collaborate closely with other Sales Directors, the Senior Sales Analyst, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inventory Planning
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams (Sales, Finance, Production, Fulfillment) teams to develop and/or refine methodologies to forecast sales and inventory levels at a category, brand and SKU level to inform purchasing decisions for finished goods and packaging for both replenishment, custom orders, seasonal, and made-to-order products. Analyze and build both a top–down and bottoms–up forecast and understand opportunities to bridge the gap between the 2 on a SKU level to hit revenue targets without over-indexing on inventory
- Evaluate tools for inventory planning, such as Anaplan or Blue Ridge to ensure channel forecasts and available weeks of stock are healthy
- Analytics
- Provide weekly and monthly insights into inventory levels and sales performance at an item level, including identifying trends and suggesting methodology improvements
- Develop weekly forecast versus actual sales reporting to share across the company
- Regularly review syndicated market data, keep close track of competition and innovation to help drive decisions impacting Antelope growth as well as informing appropriate leadership for potential strategy changes, etc.
- Systems
- Maintain accurate sales forecast and demand plan across channels
- Ensure vendor and item information is properly set up and maintained in all systems
- Ensure Google drive organization for channels and categories are properly set up and maintained
- Fully embraces Salesforce CRM tool to enter and track progress on all volume opportunities
- Routinely analyzes customer sell out data for actionable next steps to grow the business
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in planning roles at a consumer goods or retail company
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PPT, word and able to quickly master new systems
- Comfortable in ambiguous situations and able to confidently operate with limited oversight
- Prior experience with fast-growing consumer companies
- Ability to lead and manage a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, scaling environment, ensuring effective collaboration and adaptability as the company grows
- Experience in a demand planning tool (e.g., Blue Ridge, Anaplan, Qubic) is a plus
- Ability to travel 25% - 40% or as required
